Stefan was born in 1970 in Kraljevo, in the heart of the Morava region. His home town is surrounded by the Stolovi mountain, and the river Ibar flows right past the city before joining the Morava. The area where Stefan lives is graced by many spas and by the Goč and Kopaonik mountains. Among its many monasteries, the Žiča monastery stands out — Stefan, a deeply devout man, visits it often.
Education and St. George’s Day 1995
After finishing secondary school he did his military service in Slovenia. Back from the army, he enrolled at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Belgrade to study general physics.
He would long since have been a physics teacher, had the Almighty not given him what He gave him on 6 May 1995, St. George’s Day.
Besides graduating from the catering school in Vrnjačka Banja, he completed many courses — modelling and English among them — and served as a contract soldier in Kraljevo, where he reached the rank of corporal. As a schoolboy he also played music, and he has never shied away from any kind of work.
Travels and faith
To this day he teaches himself foreign languages. He is a great romantic and has met people of almost every background: in his work so far he has visited some 70 countries, of which Israel and Palestine remain his favourites. He is drawn to places with positive energy and good people, and to holy places with many monasteries and churches.
Stefan is of the Orthodox faith and says:
“I love my own faith, and I respect and value every other faith.”
That is why he has never hesitated to enter any place of worship on the planet, as the many photographs on this website show. In his words:
“We are all people, and there is only one power ruling this planet — our one and only Lord God, who is above us all.”
