My dear Stefan, I want to thank you and greet you publicly, so the whole world can see. Your help, patience and understanding cannot be measured by anything in this world. I live in Switzerland, far away from all my loved ones, far from the people I could have confided in when things were hard. I found your e-mail, your phone number, your address — everything — and waited impatiently for morning to call you. Your phone rang for a long time; for me it felt even longer. I was crying and waiting for my last hope. When you answered, I was born again. All I said was: “Stefan, this is Vanja, we spoke five years ago. I need your help, please come to Switzerland or I will die.” You said your path didn’t lead this way at all, but that you would come. I was overjoyed. I will never forget how I paced while waiting for you to arrive; a fear came over me, but when I saw you, it was as if I had known you for a hundred years.

From that day everything was different — everything turned for the better. I have no words to describe it: that peace, that calm, that hope and faith. Today, after so many years, nothing has got worse; things only keep getting better. We are united and happy, and most importantly, my son is not ill. The doctors look at me in amazement and cannot believe the results. I don’t have to justify or explain anything to anyone — what matters to me is that everything in my home, from my husband to my children, is in the best order. I still sometimes ask for advice or have a question, but it is nothing alarming any more; we simply have a friendship now, as if we had known each other for a hundred years. P.S. I forgot to say how hard it was for me after that first meeting, when I saw you off at the train. I thought: “God, he is leaving, he has to go, and I am staying with my problems.” I stood alone on the platform in tears — I will never forget it, because after that meeting I did not have to wait long for everything to turn for the better. From my own experience I want to say publicly that Stefan is a gift from God who is here to help us all.

I have known Stefan for eight years through a friend of mine — as they say, “a good name travels far”! When I first met him, he immediately gave me a sense of warmth, security and positivity, a resilience against everything around me that had made me negative and unhappy. From the moment Stefi helped me, my life changed completely, a full 360 degrees! Thanks to him I got married, had a wonderful child and now live in Austria. We have become close family friends and more than that — Stefi is someone everyone would wish to have as a godfather, and for me that wish came true!
